Adviser to the Sindh Chief Minister on Law and Environment Barrister Murtaza Wahab has accepted the demand of traders and industrialists of Karachi for reviewing afresh the provincial environment laws to make them business-friendly to the maximum possible extent.
He made the commitment to this effect on Wednesday while speaking at a symposium on solid waste management organised by the Karachi Chamber of Commerce & Industry. The law adviser said a committee would be established to review the existing environmental laws of the province and a notification to this effect would be issued by the Sindh environment department within one week.

During his first two days “unifying” the nation, President Joseph R. Biden delivered for the most radical environmental interests of the Democrat coalition that nominated and elected him. After all, that is what he promised to do. Killing the Keystone Pipeline and rejoining the Paris Climate Agreement is just the start of his “unifying” environmental agenda.
Over the last month, the White House and federal agencies go through the same ritual of preparing accomplishment reports. And they should. My office prepared one. The secretary’s office prepared one. After all, we are proud of delivering for the American people.
My growing collection of plastic take-out boxes brings out the biggest gardening geek in me. You can t recycle clam-shell plastic around here anyway so re-use them in the best possible way!
I very much appreciate restaurants that are using biodegradable containers for their take-out and delivery orders. They last just long enough to get the job done and then you can recycle them.
HOWEVER, some restaurants are using pretty heavy duty plastic containers for their take-out orders and I m LOVING them.
They will have a 2nd life as mini greenhouses very shortly.
Many of us have those large (flimsy) black trays that come with equally flimsy clear toppers that you can purchase at any gardening center or hardware store. They work just fine for starting seeds but they re pretty big and I have found they get too heavy when filled with seeded dirt discs. (Did I mention they re cheap and flimsy?)

No-one ever expected a smooth transition from Donald Trump’s abandonment of the 2015 nuclear deal to Joe Biden re-embracing it. Neither Iran nor the US can afford to lose too much face in dealing with the other, domestic and international politics on both sides have long seen to that. Thus the current jockeying for position and leverage seen coming from Tehran and Washington. Drop the Trump sanctions and we’ll quickly get back to full compliance with the nuclear deal, says Iran. Get back to full compliance and we’ll drop the sanctions and re-enter the nuclear deal, says the US.

Despite the COVID-19 pandemic, New Jersey trial and appellate courts issued several key environmental law decisions in 2020. Recently, my colleagues, Martha Donovan and Margaret Raymond-Flood, and I have had the opportunity to present a seminar, entitled “Navigating the Recent Developments in Environmental Law and Coverage Affecting NJ Practitioners,” for the New Jersey State Bar Association, where my task was to review Appellate and Law Division decisions affecting New Jersey environmental attorneys.
